a, some friends, & I went to see earth, wind, & fire last night at red rocks theater. beforehand we drank some vodka-slurpees. a snuck in some samplers in his penal pouch. we passed on offerings of $5 doobies. we grooved & drank $8 beers & margaritas. the wieners sold out. we sprinted down the stairs, through a winding dust trail & down the paved street, weaving in between cars to get to ours, laughing. afterwards a & I ate some tacos & churro twists & I fell asleep to the secret life of the american teenager where 17-year old's were getting married & birthing & saying the same thing over & over: "you want to do it? I might, but do you? I would if you would want to, I want to, I want you to want to, we both want to, nah, let's not do it yet, I agree."
today liz & I did hatha yoga, i developed some film for too much money, cruiser biked uphill on a hwy, laid beneath the sun with baby oil & the absolutely true diary of a part-time indian by s. alexie, worked on a manuscript, & got my period. in hatha we were encouraged to focus on what we have that makes us happy, pulling from our internal. the yoga master pulled my hips, balancing, trying to make me a better downward facing dogger.
I chuckled at the "do it" part partly because I can hear your heavy enunciation of the phrase, and partly because of the people saying it.
