Congrats T & B
Yesterday/this past week/yesterday was quite hard on me. Two people I love very much & their families celebrated their union, and I was not there to show them in person how much I truly love them. It was a weepy week, one I am thankful is now over, sad, but thankful. I think some divine presence was trying to keep me distracted yesterday which I am eternally grateful for. Last night I worked at the bar with the owner; it was casual, all the drinkers were at the block party down the street. We had some super personalities come in: a guy who said in passing, "I won't make the same mistake of losing 2 mill on an ex-wife again..." who then tipped a generous $20 on a $40 bill. Then there was the beautiful 30-yr old woman on the run from her husband in New York, paying for everything with cash so he couldn't track her, who tipped $20 on a $30 bill. Then there was the ex-pro football player who makes his money on the kombucha train, mixing kombucha with whiskey, who sat down & helped us close & the 3 of us became good friends. We made moves to the Irish bar, where by influence of my boss/owner, we had manhattan's, the bartender behind the bar became my best friend, because I have her name tattooed on my shoulder, I made best friends with Downtown Johnny, and got him to promise me free shots come T's bachelorette party, I made friends with someone in Ferndale who has a lesbian crush on my mother...it's like everything was an afterparty where everyone appreciated you/each other for one reason or another, and there was so much love to give & get that it could only have been a beautiful tribute to two of the coolest people I have ever met. Congrats to Trish & Bruce, I consider you family & love you forever.
