On my day off, the Quanz/Olsen clan gathered at grandmother's house for toast & talk. I revealed the politics of sponsored running, went through a few boxes for winter sweaters. We piled into the car & went thrifting, each with her own I-need-something's. Christmas decorations, sweaters, running garb & presents were purchased. Later that evening I met with K at western's track for a workout, lit up by the lights, running those old trails by headlamps to warm up. We did 16x400's with a 400 rest between each, a powerful workout. Afterwards we met up at the new soy house downtown for some hot pho to discuss our sponsors & next year.Today we are heading south for Oregon for Regionals, to race against some tough competition. I'm excited to get away for a bit, kick some ass, drink some celebratory beer.
