After a full day at the office, I worked a couple hours at the bar which was host to a jazz piano concert. The music was sultry, the lights low, my glass of post-work chardonnay honeyed. I hadn't expected to work the bar, so I came in an old Ichiro Mariner's jersey, which solicited the question from an old woman: "Is that your team jersey?" "What?" "That shirt, what sport is it for?" "The Mariners? The Seattle Mariners, baseball..., these are my pajamas, I didn't know I was supposed to work..." "Well you look great." Picked up a couple bottles of wine for Leavenworth. Stopped at the pumpkin carving & project runway season finale party at LW's. For reasons unbeknownst to me, I was very anti-pumpkin carving. The girls & I assumed it must have been all the work I put into last year's fetus pumpkin. I'm burned out. Took pleasure in gutting the insides. Watched cats, leaves, faces, unicorns arrive against the orange flesh. LW had a cheese platter of brie, chocolate covered jelly's, cranberry crackers, chocolate peanut butter filled pretzels, snickerdoodles, wine. We admired the fashions, criticized, praised.
